One day not long ago as I was finishing my shower, I stopped mid-splash, as I was rinsing the shampoo, soap and hair from the tub, tiles and shower curtain. I thought to myself, "There's got to be a better way." Before turning off the water everytime I took a shower, I would cup my hands or use my scrunchie to collect water and fling it at the tub walls, tiles and curtain in order to rinse them. It seemed a frustrating exercise that would be better accomplished with a cup. But I didn't store a cup in my tub because there are only two corners - limited space - which are taken up by things like razors, shampoo bottles, conditioner and soap.
I realized the activity of rinsing is often treated as an afterthought. I was aware that my friends and family generally had the ubiquitous rinse cup, taking up space in the corner of their bathtub. I remembered when I was a small child that my mom kept a plastic cup in the tub for rinsing shampoo from our hair when she bathed us, and I knew that my sister did the same when it was bath time for her grandchildren.
What I needed, and a lot of us need, is a rinse cup that is convenient, not in the way, and won't be sitting around gathering stale water or mildew and taking up space. The solution to this problem was a cup that is designed specifically for the task of rinsing. A task that we perform in a multitude of ways each day. So I designed and invented The Schuppy® The rinse cup with a hook for hanging.
